What an Experience

Back home sunday after a loong trip of 20 days , 3 countries , 7 flights and lots of memories and experiences .

The trip overall was relatively smooth. It was a great experience overall , learned a lot about cultures , people , work style and other stuff and how it is same or different to India.

Highlights of the trip was the satisfaction of being able to do successful business abroad on the first go , an international football match , making contacts with a hot italian woman , a sotc tour organizer , a doctor , a national geographic photographer and a local musician who all were next seat neighbour on the planes.

Kuala Lumpur was the 1st stop on the journey and the hotel i was up in pretty much sucked. But the area around the hotel was rocking with huge shopping centres , malls , theatres ... lets say THE place to be in KL. The trip to the twin towers was cool and when i was there , there was a fashion show going on which was cool. One thing i definitely noticed is that guys are a lot into fashion and such stuff. you would see them dressed up , various hair styles and definitely IN people as they say.The girls anywhere on this earth are into fashion and so was the case here. The big brands from Versace , Hugo , Issey Miyake etc sell well here, i saw people window shopping and actually buying stuff from designer brands in the lots , no wonder the economy is good and you can sense it . The local people shop and shop big time like its their only passtimes in the evenings. There was one mall which had a freaking roller coaster ride inside the mall which i think is the only one in the world. Found a nice indian/pakistani restaurant near the hotel and seriouslly , one of the best indian food i have had anywhere including India.

Thailand was one intresting place. When i boarded the taxi to go to the hotel , it reminded immediately of andheri flyovers but smoother roads and the sense of similarity to mumbai. To be greeted by the ladies before i enter the hotel was nice ;-). The hotel i was up in was excellent. My first dose of travelling by sky train came in Bangkok. The whole city is connected by 2 lines and the travel is cheap. Basically in 25 bucks you could travel from one end of the city to the other with no hassels of traffic and in the comfort of air conditioned sky train. Tuk tuk ride i took was also cool and yes , as everyone says , you have got to ride it once. If you are a tourist , you need to be careful here cause most of the time shops , local people try to rip you off.Bargaining is a necessary skill here. Night life was rocking in a couple of places limited to certain areas. The are near Hard Rock Cafe was THE happening place. Motorcycle gangs , drag races, modded cars , loud rock and metal songs blaring from the cars and the pubs mixed with techno and house music and the neon lights of brothels , this is one place i wont forget. Since most days were lined up with meetings , couldnt get a chance to see pattaya which i will surely miss.

Singapore is one heavenly country , i believe its slightly larger than mumbai so i can understand how easy it is to maintain and develop the place . It is one beautiful place. My hotel was in a place called Little India. I reached on a sunday and saw the most amazing thing. Hundreds and hundreds on Indians out on the streets which took me by surprise. It seems there are a lot of south indians have settled and working here since singapore was in its developing phase. The boat ride here was the highlight taking you through the heart of the country to see the mixture of early singapore with the new high rise concrete jungle as the say.Taking a stroll on the famous marina bay to seeing the beautiful chinatown to having a cup of coffee on basically the highest point over singapore were memorable.

The computer malls were huuuge , floors upon floors of 100s of shops selling all kinds of boys toys was really tempting. You could basically get anything that can be associated with electronics in one buliding basically which is great.

This was basically my whole trip summed up in a small post. Other than all this , other times i would be busy travelling around for meetings , establishing business and personal contacts for the future and it was a great learning experience , one which would help me personally and professionally.

Some of the pics i have uploaded here , do check em out :-)
